No longer in Texas, y'all!

To all my Texas clients from previous shoots, I wanted to let you know again that I am no longer in the Dallas area. My family and I have moved to Boulder, Colorado late this past summer. I have received an overwhelming response this year from my past amazing clients wanting to set up appointments.

I really appreciate the wonderful opportunities that you have given me, meeting your families, watching your children grow, and capturing all those amazing moments! All the best to all of you and maybe our paths will cross again some day! jk

True Grit

Trying out a new gritty detail enhanced process on some of my favorite shots in the past month. Since I am surrounded by amazing landscape now, why not try it out. My fav is the one right below!

Sparkling Water

I love how the light dances on the ripples of flowing water in the creek. My camera captures these brilliant stars that are a gift to see when I process. Click on each image to see a larger view.

Foothills

Well, I have finally moved to an amazingly beautiful place. I cannot believe how many stunning spots there are here in Boulder, CO. And it does not end there... take a drive 36 miles to Estes Park and the Rocky Mountains make our little foothills look like chump change.

If you have been following my work, I have dabbled in some self portraits for a lot of reasons but mainly for the challenge. I do self portraits all by myself, hence the name "self portrait." I have no assistants, I take my handy tripod, set it up, use my remote trigger and play around with lots of shots running back and forth to check the result, change, take another, change, etc. until I am somewhat happy.

The reason I am posting on this shoot, is because to date I have never done anything like it and it was incredible.

From my apartment, I bike to the nearest park which is about 2 miles away, park my bike and walk up the Boulder Creek Path, cross the bridge and to Elephant Buttress, this is the view from the path:

This is my handy dandy backpack I got from Walmart (only $9) jimmy rigged my tripod on:

While climbing up, a snake encounter, but turned out to be all good,

Tripod setup, climbing over rocks, up and down, feeling like a kid again. My new remote is all of a sudden flipping out and doing continuous shots.

I run over rocks and up rocks and back down, as always the best thing to do is just turn everything OFF and calm the F down. After chilling for a few minutes, we try it again:

If I were to look down......

The first of many I hope to capture here in beautiful Colorado:
